Words count, actions are important, and impact is key in human affairs and societal improvements. These amongst other expressions best describes a man who understands the dynamics of change; the privilege to serve; the importance of effectively undertaking national assignments towards encouraging the government, bringing back trust to the citizens and translating laudable strides to national transformation and sustainability.

He is calm, calculated, coordinated and compassionate and his works and interactions are speaking for him. Ambassador Wahab Adekola Akande, the incumbent Consul General of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Frankfurt deserves commendations in the discharge of his constitutional responsibility at the Consulate in Frankfurt-Germany. He has performed very well and still performing; setting new standards and offering helpful leadership. Simply put, he is one whose strives speaks volume and whose humility accompanies accomplishments.

As it stands now, the Consulate General of Nigeria in Frankfurt, Germany, is a blessing to many in Frankfurt and surrounding cities and countries. Nigerians vastly resides abroad and one of the problems they regularly encounter is renewing and obtaining new passports, a challenge that has witnessed so many troubles and unpleasantness in the past. But, backed by the supports of the Buhari-Osinbajo Administration, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr Goeffrey Onyeama, the Honourable Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and other relevant leaders in government, Nigeria Envoys are swiftly surmounting these challenges and bringing stability to these erstwhile lingering issues.

When Acclaim Nigeria International Magazine (ANIM), a diplomacy and development promoting media organisation from Nigeria first visited the Consul General in 2022 to learn of the level of works ongoing at the Mission at that time based on the testimonies shared of activities there, the Envoy who warmly received the press crew on a working visit to Germany promised that when the next visitation will be made more concrete and significant achievements will be recorded (even though so much positive happenings in various areas of growth were already on ground). And, true to this, in the media recent visit, it was words backed by actions with gladdening results of our Envoys at their various diplomatic destinations and duty posts around the world increasing innovations and strategies that are making Nigeria and Nigerians prouder everyday.

One of ANIM’s work is to highlight efforts of progress by growth promoters in private and public circles both in Nigeria and beyond and encourage them to go the extra miles in their various efforts of positive and beneficial developments. Towards this, ANIM recently paid another visit and presented an award of ‘Recognition to Excellence’ to Ambassador Wahab Akande for his remarkable job of alleviating the sufferings of Nigerians in consular matters in Europe, bringing them together in national colours and costumes, restoring back confidence and pride and promoting national dignity.

As the testimonies increases of satisfactory job done by various beneficiaries who are not only resident in Germany, the Award presentation is aimed at eliciting more fruitious efforts from him and many others ANIM acknowledges and acclaims as ‘Proudly Nigeria Promoters’
