Towards promoting these, the Visit Bangladesh Programme (VBP), an initiative by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh further got a boost as the December, 2019 VBP hosted 36 Delegates from 20 nations, cross-cutting foreign media personnel, writers, columnist, intellectuals, former diplomats, bureaucrats, members of the civil service. The primary focus of the fully-funded event is unfolding the Birth Centennial Celebration of Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman throughout 2020 already declared “Mujib Borso”. And, the secondary purpose was t oensure the delegation gather first-hand information on glorious aspects of Bangladesh and the country’s commendable achievements in the socio-economic field which have turned Bangladesh a “Development Model” of developing countries.
The 10-day programme involved key interactions with key officials of government, private sectors, and also with the vibrant media of Bangladesh among others. It also provided strategic visits to places of national significance including the National Museum, National Secretariat, National Parliament, National Parade Ground at Agargoan, Oldest Hindu Temple, Liberation War Musuem at Sher-E-Banlar Nagar, Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, Bangabandhu Mausoleum at Khulna, Bangladesh oldest Mosque (A UNESCO Heritage approved site) and visit to the Sundarbans (the World’s Longest/largest Mangrove) by cruise liner. The Delegates among other VIP guests were also privileged to attend the 2019 Victory Day Parade.
Rounding up the visitation during the farewell reception hosted at the State House in Dhaka, by the Chief Host, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegates were urged by the Bangladesh Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. A.K Abdul Momen to continually use their various publicity medium and influence to PROJECT the investment and development Potentials of Bangladesh in their countries and to the world at large.
