ANIM Hosts Maiden Youth Conference In Lagos-Nigeria.
Youths are generally regarded as the pride and emerging laders of any nation. They are invaluable partners of national development realisation if adequately cared and catered for . Simply put, they are a significant present expected to transform to a desired future, hence nation leaders, managers and growth stakeholders across the world should continually work towards ensuring their recognition, relevance and respectability at all times.
Towards a growing, qualitative and impactful youth presence in Nigeria, Acclaim Nigeria International Magazine, (ANIM) a broadly acknowledged diplomacy and development media organisation held its maiden youth conference ‘YUTILIZE 2023’ in Lagos, Nigeria.
YUTILIZE: (Youth Unification, Tutelage, Improvements, Leadership Impact & Zest for Exploits): is a non-partisan, non-profit, all-inclusive and interactive initiative geared towards the continued recognition of youths and young people inclusions and productive participation in growth processes, life pursuits, leadership attainments and improvements commitments. It is a complementary and collaborative effort helping to further identify, involve, inspire and innovate youths and young persons’ interests and improvements and connect them to people, platforms and programmes that will always help advance their general wellness and country’s progress.
Its conceptualisation, operations and impacts are expected to always:
- Create development opportunities.
- Break-barrier and raise the bar of excellence in career and vocational attainments.
- Synergize and build trust among youths and other development key players.
- Ensure eeffective civic interactions consistent with nation’s law and order and global best practices.
- Set growth agendas and actions of positive impacts.
- Encourage youths’ involvement in national governance, and,
- Provide a thriving space for local expressions and international connectivity.
With the central theme of ‘RAISING MORE NATION BUILDERS’ participants from various growth platforms including top diplomatic envoys in the country, special guests from local and international institutions, enthusiastic youths ranging from 16-35years from diverse career backgrounds comprising students. graduates, NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) members and youth development stakeholders from the private and public sectors (comprising parents, handlers, carers, guardians, managers) attended and maximally benefited from the programme agenda and delivery.
Speakers after speakers who were carefully sought delivered speeches and remarks that will last a long time in the minds of these young ones and in the improvements of their nation. The event opening remarks was delivered by By Mrs. Laurence Monmayrant (Consul General of France in Lagos).
The senior French diplomat in Lagos was delighted to talked and interacted with so many inspiring young people in Nigeria. She emphasised on the need for the youths in the nation to have dreams, keep and pursue their dreams to profitable realisation; understands the dangers lurking around and surrounds themselves with peoples and opportunities that will advance their lives and pursuits. She also spoke of France development programmes and continued contributions through its mission in the country to ongoing nation building realisations in Nigeria.
Mr Daniel Losada Millar, Consul General of Spain in Lagos, another keynote speaker also spoke on why youths are central to national development attainments. Speaking on Nigerian Youth: A Veritable Asset To Nation Building And Regional Transformation, Mr Daniel Losada Millar, the Spanish envoy highlighted the need for qualitative education, positive peers influence, right information acquisition, improving decision-making skills, a good career path and the combination of preparedness, networks, skills and pursuits amongst others as core requirements constantly needed for Nigerian and African youths improvements and impacts. He urges the youths to rise beyond challenges faced and become nation builders in the nation and region.
On his part, Mr Brian Esibe Collins, CEO CITIGATE S.L (Businessman & Entrepreneur) who spoke virtually on Becoming A Successful Entrepreneur At Home And In The Diaspora also charged the youths to be innovative and develop their skills and potentials for national growth instead of embarking on illegal and dangerous journeys that could imperil their lives. For him, Nigerian youths should increasingly take advantage on the internet and various online technology platforms and reachouts to build their businesses and endeavours. He narrated the story of a Nigerian young that was deported from Europe as an illegal immigrant but who later became celebrated employer due to resilience, inventiveness and dignity in labour.
While speaking to the youths on Positioning Nigerian Youths For Global Business Opportunities And Leadership Impact, Mr. Eivind Fjeldstad, Business Counsellor, from the Royal Norwegian Embassy, Abuja appealed to the youths to take cognizant of the vast business opportunities in the country in terms of its population, markets, networks resources, potentials and leveraged on it for economic. The brilliant envoy encouraged the youth to develop business and entrepreneurial skill-sets to advance the nation’s socio-economic growth.
Barrister (Mrs) Abimbola Badia Jack-Oladugba a Legal Practitioner. Girl-Child And Young Women promoter spoke on Creating The Right Environment And Knowledge For The Nigerian Girl-Child And Young Women To Effectively Thrive And Succeed In The Global Space. The crusader on Domestic Violence against Women and Gender Based Advocacy Lawyer enumerated the various abuses and assaults on the Nigerian Girl-Child and young women emphasising on their importance of protecting and preserving them towards enjoying her rights and lives and why youth development stakeholders must continually rise at all time to seek and safe guard for their better lives and living conditions.
The conference also acknowledges the importance of Sports as a tool for national and global progress, Mr. Desmond Chiji, LaLiga, Delegate Global Network Nigeria & Ghana gave a A VISUAL PRESENTATION on Youth Development in Nigeria Through Sports (Football) growth. Speaking on LALIGA TALKS YUTILIZE, the LaLiga representative kept the youth spell-bound as he spoke on an area they are well resonated and interested in dwelling on LaLiga Growths and Impacts as a global football brand and why its presence are promotions are beneficial in Nigeria.
